Hi Nancy:

I often find that even the most shy clients will blossom and share IF they feel properly armed. That could mean "diving deep" to understand a topic, practicing how they'd navigate a tricky conversation or regularly interacting with influencers who can help get them up to speed.

So, the opportunity for marketers may be to help develop customized systems that allow folks to rapidly gain comfort. Enter social media and SEO, very interesting building blocks for those systems. We live in an interesting time...

I love thinking about it that way!!! Investing to get a return!!!! And the money analogy is something all peeps should be able to relate to! And in life, we get out of our relationships what we are willing to put into them. So why should Twitter be any different!

You are right on target as always Nancy. When I speak to people on social media, the first thing most people say is they don't know where to start or what to say and feel overwhelmed. I find that many new young attorneys coming out of law school feel the same way with networking from the ground up on and offline. But once they start getting their feet wet, the fear goes away.

I, for one, appreciate you sharing your words of wisdom in 140 characters or less on Twitter so I can pass them along. Good information needs to be shared!

Ces, you are a GREAT connector and conversationalist! You are a shining example of how to engage others in Social Media. You bring people out of their shells, and in to the world of engagement. Thanks for stopping by my friend!

Thanks Deb. You are most welcome! I think Social Media are perfect tools for those who don't feel comfortable networking. I've often said it is much easier for some to network on a page 1st, get to know someone, then feel much more comfortable meeting in person. Thanks for stopping by!

I love this post Nancy. I was actually terribly shy until I turned 20. Not sure what happened, but I get teased by friends and family too. It is now very easy to me to network and engage, but I so understand those who it does not feel natural to them.

It is more important than ever to network online and in person. Critical. Thank you for the reminder.
